Explorations

Introduction

“How can you find, explore, and/or expand your passion?”
This was a question by Freestyle as a prompt for our last project as Juniors at Freestyle. The requirements were related to our elective classes for me was Animation. and that there was some sort of self-improvement through the process: other than that, we were given complete control over what we wanted to do. I decided to stem out and try rotoscoping for the first time. I originally decided on doing a music video, but realizing the span of time it seemed impossible, so I decided to go a little easier and do skateboarding. The way of me being able to produced my rotoscoping video is shown down below in this infographic.

This below explains my process of how to be able to rotoscope.

Here is a comparison of me tracing the real life footage of what I’m animating and the second picture is me cleaning and watching over and over to see how to make my animation flow better

Before making it into a mp4 file I had to check and polish up the videos on After Effects.

Experimental Music

The last project for Reason was to use what we learned from the previous projects and to create our own song. This may sound like a challenge, but with unlimited creativity you can create whatever you want and however you want it to be. Even though I don’t have any experience with making music this project wasn’t that daunting and I had a lot of fun and time on my hands to create some great quality music.
