Zenith

Introduction

Every year, senior year have to finish off a project at Freestyle called Zenith, it is a project that showcases your exploration and skills what you have created. It being the last project for Freestyle we were able to have the creative freedom to choose whatever program and form of medium we desired to showcase at Freestyle. It is the project where us students are allowed to use the programs we have been using for the past two years and use that to what we are passionate about.

What Did I do?

For my Zenith project, I chose to show my process behind the creation of creating my own vtubing avatars. Vtubing is something I recently became fascinated about as I find animation mixed with motion detection something beneficial for the future. I find the concept of having your own 3d model come to life something special and it feels like the character you created is real. As for my Zenith, I used softwares such as VRoid Studio and VseeFace, and OBS to form my characters. First using VRoid, I had to create and design how my character will look, the way their cloth look, and customize their facial expressions. Then exporting my model to VseeFace, it is a software where you set up your avatar to work with motion detection to make your character come to life. From there I set up the lighting and key shortcuts to making my character fully. Finally, I set up OBS where then I can record myself proving I finished the project. Another thing I did was creating another avatar, a test model where I show a speed up time lapse of how to make and set up your avatar. This project overall challenged as I had to completely learn three new softwares that I didn’t previously know nothing about and allowed me to explore and use these new programs.
