Humor

The humor project! AKA a project where you try to be funny to get a good grade. The humor project is primarily a Freestyle English project where we analyze different comedy tools used by comedians who inspire us. I was personally inspired by Michael Reeves and Abelina Sabrina for this project and focused my humor of the project on the use of breaking the fourth walls and caricatures. For the comedy tools, we listed our use of banter, satire, joke, situational irony, triviality, and caricature.

The second part of the humor project was to write a script for your video or speech. I worked together with my classmate Leanna Chun to work on the scriptwriting as well as work on filming and editing. We ended up brainstorming over an anime-related humor project where we make fun of several different types of tropes most animes have. We also focused our project on including different anime references to keep our humor project relatable.

After filming our scenes, we edited our project within Adobe Premiere Pro and created a title using Adobe After Effects.

Working on the humor project was super fun! I really enjoyed being able to collaborate with my friend on this project to create something we are both interested in. We were having so much fun filming that I was even smiling during parts of the shots I shouldn’t have been smiling in! I really think that the humor project in general gave us a chance to be ourselves and embrace our funny sides. I think that the process of editing was also just as enjoyable because it gave us a chance to reflect upon the enjoyable times we had filming. The project in my option has been a good experience and I think that it was a good project to end off the English class with!
