The prompt for this photo was “rule of thirds emotion”, although for this photo I ended up capturing more so a feeling. The feeling I chose was curiosity. As I took a photo of my cats, I liked the way one of them tilted her head towards the camera curiously. After the photo was taken, I used Photoshop to put the photo as a whole at this angle to emphasize this look. To further the effect of intrigue, I added a blur around the edges to obscure the foreground as well as a slight vignette effect. I also adjusted the lighting to be a bit cooler, so it would feel unfamiliar. Additionally, I used various layer masks to make my cat’s eyes look brighter. To ensure a good composition, I overlayed a rule of thirds grid and placed her face in the top right intersection to make it the focal point.
