The Elements

The prompt for this photo was “the elements”, and I chose to represent wind in my photo. I went outside, and tried to look for something that would be easily swayed by the wind. I found this browned leaf that hadn’t yet fallen, and took a few photos of it as it as the wind pushed it around. Then, I took the image to Photoshop. Using Photoshop, I used layer masks to adjust the lighting and make everything more visible. I also made the leaf a bit brighter than the background so it would stand out. Most importantly, I applied motion blue masked to everything but the leaf to give the effect of motion. If I were to take this photo again, I would like to experiment with different shutter speeds to see if I can capture natural motion blur.
