Tell A Lie

This photo tells a lie because it was not actually sunset at the time it was taken. Using Adobe Photoshop I edited this image to bring out more color, and I ended up creating a sunset! I also love the leading lines in this image from the staircase down to the beach.

Leading Lines in Food

These are some delicious strawberries from the Los Altos farmer’s market, which was able to return this year for the first time since the pandemic! I love the dark line that traverses the photo right down the middle and how it contrasts with the bright strawberries.

Stranger

Wow this photo essay from 2019 keeps coming in handy! I took this photo of two random boys who were patiently waiting to ride a ride at Coney Island. Their story is unknown to me, but the friendship they found in line is very special and I am glad I was able to highlight it…

Serenity

This photo represents serenity to me because it was taken when I went to visit my old summer camp for my documentary project. The camp burned down and seeing the damage was very emotional, but I also was able to visit the camp beach (which can only be reached by walking through this field) and…

Rule of Odds

I took this candid photo of my friends as we were sitting around a fire (that may have taken us an hour to figure out how to make) on the beach at night. I love how it captures how happy all of us were this night, and how the fire light reflects onto my friends’…

Aging

This photo is from my photo essay from Coney Island. I love how it captures the youth of these girls in their matching outfits and hair pieces as they pick out their candy. The big decision they have to make represents taking steps into adulthood, no matter how small they are.

#NoFilter

This summer my friend and I were determined to see the sunset at a viewpoint on the Western side of Lake Tahoe. But, being us, we woke up about 15 minutes late. We rushed to get in the car and drive to the viewpoint, but as we were driving past the lake we realized the…

Negative Space

To be honest I can’t believe I was able to take this picture! The framing of this photo captures the amazing structures of Bryce Canyon while also highlighting the moon against the negative space of the sky. This is one of my favorite photos I took during my Utah trip because of how mystical the…

Shadows

I took this while hiking the Navajo trail in Bryce Canyon which starts at the top of the canyon and loops through the hoodoos in the canyon. The light coming through some of the few trees in the areas created some very interesting shadows.

Anonymous

Every time we go on a hike, my brother and his friend stack rocks just like this. I love seeing rocks stacked along the side of trails because you never know who stacked them; they are an anonymous reminder of community.
