Photo Blog 5: Symmetry Landscape

A bright red brick wall that is symmetrical
A bright red, symmetrical brick wall

For this photo challenge, I chose to photograph a brick wall along the side of my house. The architectural pattern of bricks has always been really pleasing to my eye my entire life, as they are both imperfect but perfect at the same time. At first glance, they seem irregular, as if their formations would not be symmetrical. However, as you take a closer look, you realize that if the photo were to be folded in half, the bricks would actually be symmetrical with both sides being merely identical. I also used Adobe Photoshop’s screen blending mode to truly bring out the bright red color of the bricks, which is appealing to the eye.
