A colorful festival mask

This week, we were challenged to tell the story of a stranger. I wasn’t really sure what to photograph for this prompt at first, as I didn’t want to go out and take pictures of literal strangers on the street. However, I found some old festival masks that were gifted to me when I was younger that reminded me of the type of masks people wear at masquerades. I chose to photograph one of these masks because by wearing a mask at events such as masquerades or festivals, it is sort of as if you are a stranger to those around you, as it gives you an entirely different persona in way. I’ve always been fond of the mysterious vibe of masquerade balls and Cinderella-type movies, so I really like the idea I ended up coming up with for this photo.
