This week, I decided to photograph a swinging birdfeeder hanging in my backyard in order to demonstrate the rule of thirds. If the photo were to be divided into 9 rectangles, the birdfeeder would fall upon the intersection of 2 lines. The similar dark green color of the surrounding leaves also helps the audience to really focus on the birdfeeder and draws their eyes to it. While attempting this photo challenge, I originally kept trying to use the rule of thirds with larger, long objects such as poles or trees. However, after a while, I started to experiment more with smaller objects which allowed me to manipulate the setup of my photo better.
