Photo Blog 20: Rule of Odds

A man examining his drawing

This week, we were challenged to take a photo that followed the Rule of Odds, where there is an odd number of subjects in the photo. I choose to photograph my friend sitting by himself, sketching the area around him at Hakone Gardens. This appeals to the Rule of Odds in which he is the only subject in the photo, and the audience is drawn to his body. I really like the calm and undisturbed mood of this photo, as he seems deep in thought and at peace. Seeing this photo makes me feel refreshed, in a way, as drawing is such an innocent and peaceful activity.
