Photo Blog 24: Tell a Lie

It is typically said that the “Camera Never Lies”. This week, we were challenged to creatively prove that statement wrong. I really liked this prompt, as it was fun trying to think outside the box when brainstorming how I could photograph a “lie”. I ended up choosing to capture the reflective mirrors in my parent’s bathroom. The perspective of the camera makes it seem as if there are endless rooms and lights, when in reality there is only one room that is simply being infinitely reflected off of two mirrors facing each other. The illusion of these mirrors usually amuses me a lot because it looks like a mysterious, long hall. It was a bit difficult trying to capture this illusion, however, as I had to find certain angles where neither my camera or I would be seen.
