When given the prompt “heavy as a stone, light as a feather”, my mind immediately went to people including dancers, ballerinas, and artistic gymnasts, who seem to defy the laws of gravity. Their graceful moves and skills make them appear to be weightless in the air. With this inspiration, I decided to candidly photograph my friend Tenaya performing a dance routine. She looks at peace in this captured moment, as if a weight has been lifted off her shoulders. I also used Adobe Photoshop’s multiply blend mode to help bring out the golden hue of the photo in order to set the mood of the photo.
