Photo Blog 29: Facial Symmetry

my friend Koji; 1/1327, f7.1, ISO3200

This week, we were challenged to create symmetry using facial portraits. I chose to photograph my friend, Koji, in the sunlight. I really like the original photo I took, as there’s a clear division between the different sides of his face due to the angle of the sunlight. This allowed for 2 very different images to be produced when I symmetrically reflected both sides. I used Adobe Photoshop to create a duplicate layer of each side of the image and then flip them horizontally. I also lightened the symmetrical right photo in order to allow his face to be seen better.
