Photo Blog 28: Your Culture

a set of red chinaware; 1/40, f4.5, ISO800

For our first photo blog of senior year, we were challenged to tell the story of our culture! As a descendant of Chinese immigrants, our home is sprinkled with small Chinese decorations. The bowls photographed are a common type of Chinaware which are used to eat in many Chinese homes. Additionally, the red theme in this photograph pays homage to the importance of red in Chinese culture, as it is considered to be a lucky color! Growing up in America, I’m not as in touch with my Chinese culture as much as I’d like to be, however I still cherish the small aspects that stick with me.
