Photo Blog 35: Rule of Thirds Emotion

Two mini buddha figurines with contrasting emotions; 1/16, f5.6, ISO 1600

This week, we were challenged to compose a photo demonstrating emotion that also used the rule of thirds. I chose to photograph a couple of mini buddha figurines that I got from China many years ago. I specifically chose ones that I think had conflicting emotions that were obviously unalike each other. One of them is angry, while the other one is fun and playful! I tried to implement the rule of thirds by lining up their closed eyes with 2 intersection points. I also like how from a distance, the photo kind of looks real; or, like some creepy Polar Express CGI.
