Story Telling

Fall to Winter

Each season of the year tells a story of its own. Spring, everything is blooming. Summer, it’s smoking hot and full of beach days. Fall, the leaves start to fall and the rain approaches. And lastly, winter, it’s freezing cold, with more rain. And within each season, people across the planet have many stories to tell.

And although this week’s category was storytelling, compositionally, I think this was a really nice photo. When I was driving through Downtown Los Altos, I noticed these two trees and thought it would be very fitting for the prompt. So I pulled over and went to go take the photo. When I was lining up the shot, I came upon the idea of splitting the two trees. The left half shows what we are leaving behind, fall, and the right half shows what is upon us, winter. Looking at the image now, I love the way it’s “almost” perfectly split and it came out pretty well.
