The challenge for this week was simply ‘anonymous.’ We were given complete freedom and interpretation to what this meant and how we wanted to display it. For me, when I hear the word Anonymous, I quickly think about the infamous hacking group that is known for leaking government information among many other things. But obviously, as nobody knows who they are, there is no way I could have even potentially tried to take a photo of them. So, instead I decided to get my friend to stand under a light with his hood on, therefore, covering his facial features and creating a dark shadow. In the end, the photo ended up looking really cool and mysterious, almost scary in a way too. Now, looking back at this assignment, it makes sense why something anonymous like the hacking organization is so scary to people. We are all so used to seeing people’s faces that when we see a hooded figure or someone not revealing their face it really gets us on our toes and somewhat shocked. Crazy how our brain reacts to those sort of instances!
