Center Frame Portrait

Lonely Poker Player

This week, we were challenged to take a center framed portrait that allows the audience to feel a feeling of loneliness. This assignment took quite a long time to get. Initially when I asked if my mom to look lonely, well, that didn’t go too well. Anyways, me and my buddies often play poker and I feel like this game can be associated with a feeling of isolationism and loneliness as people bet away their money. Furthermore, in order to inhibit the feeling of loneliness, I instructed my friend to show a feeling of sadness and frustration and having nobody there to help him out. Instead, he resorts to poker to heal himself and his feelings. In the end, I think it didn’t come out too bad but I have learned through this challenge in particular, it’s pretty hard for people to show loneliness with their facial emotions. Feel like I could do it pretty nicely though. Maybe I should become an actor. What do you think? I think it’s a good idea.
