When you start to think about it, our world is a place of strangers. Each person has lived through their own experiences, has their own family, goes through different routines. You pass strangers on the streets, in the airport, in the mall. But, one place where strangers are especially prevalent in day to day life is the grocery store. When I go to Safeway, everyday I see the same cashiers and workers. They are truly strangers to me, I don’t know what their names even are, yet I feel like we are friends. Even take this lady with the white coat. She’s a stranger, I have no idea who she is, where she’s from, how old she is, or what her name is. It’s pretty crazy when you stop and think about it. We pass hundreds of thousands, probably millions of peoples in our lives and we are passively a part of that person’s life. They saw me, I saw them. A part of me kind of questions why we don’t interact more with strangers, I guess for safety reasons and a lack of time. But just think about it, imagine all of the crazy stories and strangers you could’ve met if you just started some random conversation. Now that I think about it, next time I’m in Safeway I’m going to try and start a conversation with a random stranger. I encourage you to do it too, who knows, maybe it could be your soulmate haha!
