How can color be depicted in an image without color? When taking this photograph I sought to answer this question. I found the most colorful image I could think of: a tunnel made of flashing multicolor lights. Then I lowered my shutter speed so as to create take in as much light as possible, and balanced the other camera settings. The result was a dramatically bright and colorful image. When I edited the photograph to be black and white, the vibrance and difference between the tones gave the impression that there was still color. The result was a really contrasting image that I think is really cool.
