For this photograph I tried to capture the essence of film noir. I chose myself as the mysterious main character, and set about creating a composition that depicted me in this light. My brothers bunk bed had the mattress taken off for some time and I thought the bed frame would create interesting shadows. I set the camera to a ten second delay and positioned myself above the frame, and placed my hands in positions to create interest, concealing much of my face to create the film noir aura.

In photoshop I took the photo and desaturated it so it would be black and white. Then I edited the contrast and brightness of the photo to bring out the dark, sharply contrasted film noir style. Lastly, I increased the exposure and decreased the offset to create the dark graininess that is a mark of the genre.
