For this photo blog, I wanted to create a general reflection on current events rather than focus on a singular one. I feel that the overall summary of what is happening in the world right now is mainly two things: disorienting and sad. Everything is confusing and it is hard to know what the truth is. At the same time, we do know that loved ones are being lost and their is a lot of pain and suffering out there right now.
In order to capture these ideas, I focused my photograph on three heart-shaped balloons. I positioned these next to a wall around ten feet above the floor, and took a picture from an elevated angle. The effect of this is when rotated, my photo gives the impression that the balloons are resting on the floor. However, what should be the wall beyond seems to beyond to a different perspective. With the hearts on the ‘floor,’ and the confusing composition, I tried to put the feelings I associate with current events into an image.
