In this photograph I tried to capture the story of my family. This depicts my Mom, sister, and brother walking together down towards a beach. The image is split in half, the top half being purely sky with a small color gradient. The bottom is filed with detail, from the ocean’s waves to the plants in the foreground. My family are in-between in a way, but their color’s stand out from the rest and because of this they command attention in the image.
This composition is meant to tell the story of my family’s adventurousness and unity. My parents have always strived to show us the world in a inquisitive way, and to pack our lives with as much as they could. At the same time, there is still a focus on tranquility and finding peace with ourselves and in each other, represented by the simple and calming top half of the image.
