Using the center frame portrait, I sought to capture the feeling of loneliness. Center frame portraits always guide the reader towards reading the emotions of the scene, as the subject is depicted directly in the middle. This image makes me look small, and I take up only a small space of the busy reflection of the mirror. Outside of the mirror there are wooden panels that show that even the mirror itself is just a small portion of the room. My expression is solemn and a little sad, and looking at myself longing for company.
This photograph was challenging to create because I had to figure out how to get my image in the mirror without showing the camera. I ended up putting the camera to the side and taking the shot at an angle, and it took a lot of tries to line myself up directly in the middle. I think the result was worth it though!
