My calmest and most peaceful moments are sitting there with my cat on my lap, and I think any image of a cat sitting still has a very serene effect. Here, my cat sits on a ledge observing the outside world, his tail tucked behind the window curtains.
When producing this photograph I only had one chance, since the noise of my camera shutter startles the cat. When I saw he had assumed the position, I pulled out my camera and started adjusting my settings. I managed to find the right configuration where his colors are really brought out while capturing the outside light as just white, thanks to a longer F-stop. This felt more peaceful to me than a more chaotic image with outside details.
