In my weekly photo blog, one of my challenges was to take photos that told a story.
This week’s challenge to tell a story using shadows. I decided to portray the two moods of my cat by photographing her and her shadow, depicting how she looks innocent in real life in contrast with her menacing and scary-looking shadow.
This week’s challenge was to tell a story of a “New Beginning”, taking in mind the circular patterns present in life. I decided to photograph a sunset in order to represent the circular pattern of the end of the day and the start of a new one, while also photographing a bare tree branch in order to represent the cycle of the “death” of a tree while it waits to be reborn and blossom in the spring.
This week’s challenge was to tell a story depicting our hometown in a photograph. I decided to take a picture of the city of Berkeley from a high point of view, as my family and I often go up and visit my sister who attends college there. As Berkeley is a city within the limits of where I consider my home town, or rather my home region, I consider it to be and important area in my life.
This week’s challenge was to tell a love story in one image. I decided to take a picture of two rings, symbolic of love in marriage, left on the ground in a dirty space in order to represent a tragic love story.
This week’s challenge was to represent something that made us feel warm inside. I chose to photograph my best friend at our lunch date in order to represent the warmth I feel when spending time with her because it always lifts my mood.
This week’s challenge was to take a self-portrait without showing oneself. In order to do so, I decided to take a photo of my room decor, which shows my ticket stubs, postcards and pictures from different events in my life. I felt that these were some important memories of mine that represented me as a person, without actually showing my face.
