Zenith

At the end of Senior year at Freestyle, we are assigned our last project called the Zenith Project. Zenith, meaning “the time at which something is most powerful or successful” , is meant to inspire us to create something we are passionate about that showcases our skills we have accumulated by the end of our two years at Freestyle.

Having taken the Film elective at Freestyle, I wanted to challenge myself to create the most professional-looking video possible. Thus, I chose to design a juice brand for which I would then shoot and edit a commercial. My goals were to learn new editing skills as well as combine my design and film skills I had acquired over the past two years into one polished piece.

Process

Our Zenith projects were broken up into three steps: Pre Production, Production, and Post Production.

Above is a few snippets of my process, which consisted of designing a logo and label, shooting the commercial, and editing. I designed my logo and label in Adobe Illustrator, which I had learned to use in my Digital Media class my Junior year. While shooting, I used lighting techniques and creative shots that I had storyboarded beforehand, a skill I learned in my Film class. Finally, I learned how to isolate subjects with a transparent background in Adobe After Effects while editing, and animated the objects to move around the screen in Premiere Pro.

Below is my presentation demonstrating my 3-step process and final product.

Final Product

Though it came out to a bit shorter than I had envisioned, I’m still proud of my finished product. Hope you enjoy!

Zenith Reflection

I’m very grateful to have finished off my Freestyle career with this successful project. Thank you so much Freestyle for allowing me to grow into the digital artist I am today!
