Conceptual

How can I use unconventional forms to express myself?

The conceptual project emphasizes students individual talents. Each student chooses their field and created a risk-taking and challenging piece of art. Here in Freestyle, we challenge ourselves by using media like poetry, music, art, animations, experimental film, and web production, challenging students to express their opinions through a distinct personal aesthetic. Each student can explore their talents and with the Conceptual unit embrace what Freestyle’s nuance. In the modern world, it is important to know how to utilize technical communication skills along with life interactions with one’s peers. In each class, we learn different applications like Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Animate, Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, Avid Pro Tools, Autodesk Maya, and Google Apps. Being able to manipulate these different devices students will be able to move on and pursue many jobs.

I value this unit in all three of my freestyle classes: Animation, Digital Media, and English. In Animation, the conceptual unit was the first time I started to animate anything. The conceptual unit taught me how to express emotion through simple images and shapes. I also had fun talking with my peers and creating special connections with people of similar interests as me. Digital Media’s conceptual unit had a lot of communication, and the technical skills that we were all lacking were the way we would bond. Most of the time Mr. Florendo challenged us to learn on our own which really helped me get things embedded in my mind. English it was the first time I felt like I was learning anything useful in real life, communication.
